I don't think this was supposed to be a historically accurate look though-

Great video, you did a fantastic job with your makeup, hair, and costume. However, the whole thing looked closer to a 1930s glam look then a 1920s. If you're going for a glam 20s look I suggest you do some research on the movie stars at that time. The 1920s woman going out for a night of dancing would match her eyeshadow to her eye color (I know that's hard to see in black and white photos). The finger waves were great, but the rest of the hair would have been curled using pin curls and volume was not desired at the time. The pearls where good, but the popular style was one long strand of pearls that gets looped one or two times. The dress wouldn't have had the shape yours does. The popular dress shape was box like (aka no shape) it was a more androgynous look. The dress would be long, but show the scandalous ankle, and it'd have lots of beading and fringe. This kind of dress looked great when dancing. They would've worn shoes with small heels for dancing. As I said before, a glam look would be different and you'd have to look up some of the movie stars (would have been silent films and movies were considered low class entertainment) honestly, if you look into historical fashion you can learn a lot about history itself that goes beyond just names and dates. It's a lot of fun.

This is not a tutorial. This is a nonspecific video of watching someone put on makeup and do hair without any speaking or instruction and from so many angles and distance that it can't be reasonably followed as a teaching tool.

you can usually only do finger waves on short hair, which was why it was so popular in the 20's (and why I chopped 16 inches off my hair! Hahah)

We usually believe that the exact product isn't important. And as for shades you can hopefully see what's being used in the video. This is also one of our very early videos so we've got much better information now :)

I agree totally with Conwayshoes (below - 2 months ago)... I would like to know all the types of products, utensils and/or colors and more... as, my daughter is doing her hair in a twenties wave for her wedding in July... and I was wanting to do mine somewhat similar.. but, also, different - if that makes sense... as, I am the one that is going to be giving her away...
