Why would you not recommend using bacon? Did it have some sort of effect on the actor???
    • Tanisha Vostrikov

It would probably go funny and smell if you were wearing it for a while. Meat goes off.

No you just have to think of bacon the whole time. No just kidding To be honest, I don't know why

Who wants to bet that when Ellimacs watches a scary movie she ruins it for others by saying everything they could've done to make the monster the way it was by makeup then randomly makes it a tutorial

I'm vegetarian so I wont use meat in my makeup looks, even though it's the best way to make it look realistic. To people who say it's a stupid idea, real meat and animal body parts have been used in many movies to create realistic special effects, it's a legitimate way to do it.
    • J. K.

+MawiieCooper Using raw meat in a make up is unsanitary and is entirely pointless. You can get the same effect, in fact, a much BETTER effect with strips of latex called "nurnies" That's merely one way. To say that using bacon is the "best" way to get an effect like that is an uninformed opinion. And yes, movies have used food/meat for effects, but sparingly, and definitely NOT gluing meat to your face where it will stay for howeer many hours, getting warmer....harboring more and more bad bacteria. That's asking for trouble/sickness.

I don't know why everyone is fussing about the meat...Lady Gaga wore meat on the red carpet and she looked perfectly fine! :)

Bacon makeup- So Badass! You should do a makeup vid where you use only meat and meat products.  Maybe a redo of the skinless face, but only use meat.

    • Duckie Indeed

@jutiajulia Either way, the public is always going to find something to complain about. Their work could be perfect and people would still find something stupid to say. So they used meat to make realistic looking flesh. I'll call the authorities
    • jutiajulia

+Duckie Puss but it isn't real... Yes, it is very difficult to make realistic looking "flesh", but there are plenty of moods where you just have to pour latex in it to make it look like it. Btw. It's not a valid argument to say that "you probably couldn't do it better", you can still find something unpleasant or dislike something and not be able to do it. And, yes, I do work with special effects makeup and prosthetics.
    • Duckie Indeed

Assuming you couldn't do anything like this anyway. its flesh. Guess what it looks like? Flesh. What do zombies have? Rotting flesh. See if you can add that up.
    • jutiajulia

It's actually hard to tell since we do this with short breaks an change camera angles and stuff like that. We're in the studio for like six hours but the effective makeup time is much less.

    • Rita Teixeira

Thank you so much!! I must confess the meat makes it look much more realistic but the smell would bother me a little :P
    • ellimacs sfx makeup

You can replace the meat with cotton dipped in fake blood to create fleshy fibery muscle looks. Probably the simplest way :)
