This is amazing and i wish i had the money to buy all this stuff.. working with the latex looks SO fun but a pain in the ass hahha..they have to use ALL new brushes everytime. Once it touches ANYTHING you cant use it again. They said they buy 100s of really cheap brushes because its THAT bad. They have to throw them out if it touches it Fuckin pain in the ass hahaha :p... they'd need so many just for one look

Hello. How long does the finished gelatine-glycerol mixture-mask last when applied? Can one make it in advance (like about a week for example), can one apply it more than one time? If yes, how could one store it?Thanks in advance for your (on anyone's who has tried it) answer (:

I can't get the latex to adhere and hold the gelatin any suggestions
    • LaShay Robertson

Alistair Atrocity I use mehron it isn't diluted and works well for everything else I also ordered pros aid 2 and am completely disappointed with it I let it dry completely and applied a gemstone to my hand and was hoping for amazing adherence as that's what I've read in reviews and thought was my answer to this problem but it is a complete fail small gems are easily flaked off and adherence is weaker than my latex I'm so frustrated I'm going to try again today cleaning both w acetone and then applying 2 layers to gems and skin and allowing to dry before application to see if it will work differently the gelatin has some weight but isn't terribly heavy maybe I can come up w something before Saturday
    • Alistair Atrocity

LaShay Robertson Gelatin can get very heavy. plus your latex may be cheap or watered down. try spirit gum, prosaid, or a brand namd liqyid latex like ben nye or mehron
    • LaShay Robertson

Alistair Atrocity it peels away from the gelatin sigh i hope i didnt do all this work for nothing
    • Alistair Atrocity

LaShay Robertson put latex on the back of the gelatin and on the the area you are gonna stick it down, wait about 30 seconds to a minute for it to dry, then press firmly onto the skin and hold for about 15 seconds

What kind of paint do you use for the base coat? I've just been coating my skin with petroleum jelly and then using acrylic paint. And do you have a certain place where you buy your liquid latex in bulk?
    • A. R.

the479hacker you can also use mehron but they are water activated so they kinda work differently.
    • Samara Duffie

From what I can gather, Elli uses lots and lots of grease paints, and I've been able to find them from Kryolan and Graftobian. I tend to buy my liquid latex from Amazon, it's around 20$, I think, for 32 ounces. hope that helps!

I got some, and microwaved it, added food coloring and did a test run, looks great. We colored it red and I added a little bit of gold gllitter to get a nice pop. Looks fantastic. When I do the full make up, I need to find a way to post a picture so you can see. Thanks again!

The way you did the scaling on the 'snout' is really bugging me.... the two bigger scales that you put on the forehead, above the snout, you should've either left it off and just did bigger circular scales, or brought the ridges down onto the snout, going smaller and smaller until you reached the tip of it. That's.... really the only problem i had, so, AWESOME JOB! *excited thumbs up*
