Would have been nice to see how you actually got the pink colour for the gums. The red food dye is a water based dye and will not get infused with the plastic, believe me, I just tried. Since the plastic is waterproof it just gets all over your hands and not into the plastic. My work around for this was making a powder out of pink chalk and mixing it into the plastic.

Wait why can’t you attach the teeth with heat instead of glue?

I'm making my first set of teeth for a show, but having difficulty blending the food colouring. Simply wont mix. Anyone in the UK recommend a specific brand? I was using The Pantry from Aldi

It wont take 30 minutes because you need to wait until the plastic gets delivered

I'm running into a problem where it cools down before I can get a good shape on the teeth. I tried the cup of boiling water first, then actually kept a pan on the stove (boil, then drop it down, tried different temps). Also, the part that goes around the teeth tightens so much after it cools, it hurts. I've made 3 now.

I'm having a hard time of knowing how many beads to use. Is there a specific amount, like a tablespoon to make the top row?
    • rob8082010

Just made the top row and found out that you can just use heat to press down and secure the teeth while they're still pliable. Once they dry, it wont go anywhere, unless you pull them off. I would only use the glue to secure the "gum" piece for added insurance.

Guys, a question... the color doesn't stay on the plastic, it just melts away (the one for the gums part). What can I do? Try another brand? :/
    • Aidan Clarke

I think you need to knead the plastic with the coloring so the color gets trapped inside.

Failed twice. Wear gloves for the food coloring part. If you didnt and made a mess of your hands then use toothpaste and a brush to remove the stain off of your hands. 1st one I made the teeth to big. 2nd try the main part got too tight so I couldn't put it on. Although the teeth looked really good. Trying again tomorrow.
