I wouldn't recommend the superglue or the clear nail polish though, your saliva will make the teeth shiny, and you can reheat the plastic in the water to stick the teeth to the gum, if you look at the newer videos on ellimacs they show you how. i hope that helped!
    • Adele Cooper

i have sensitive teeth and its completely fine :) the plastic is non-toxic and many sfx artists use it, as long as it isn't too hot to touch its okay.

+Hyungjun Choi We're using Ellimorph Plastic. It's our own and it's available at ellimacs.com. You bite down and can remove it within 30 seconds or less. Doesn't need to be in longer.

Quick question, after molding the polymorph plastic that way you want, do your fingerprints show up? If so, do you need to smooth it out after molding it, or do the fingerprints just disappear during the drying process?

    Once I super glued my fingers to a paper towel and I didn't know what to do because it felt like it my fingers were melting. so, I ripped it off. I had burns, blisters and a small melted hole on my finger. The worst part was seeing a piece of my skin super glued to a piece of paper. ;-;

I'm assuming I could use the same procedure without teeth (I have dentures). If I just build up the bottom of the gum-line and insert the teeth into it? Will that be enough to secure the teeth or should I apply a bit of the glue?

Why don't you just make the plastic maleable again and stick the teeth into that... That way you're not using superglue....
    • Jono Pedersen

Hrm, ok. Of course, if it's non-toxic, and easy, who wouldn't use it. I'm definitely using some of these techniques for my Halloween costume :D Love it all :D

I got polymorph plastic and put it in 150ยฐ water like it said but it did not mold at all. Not only that the red food coloring only colored my hands. I'm wondering if I got bad polymorph plastic... :( so annoying!!! This video looks so easy compared to my experience
    • ellimacs sfx makeup

+modami Also there are other brands of this kind of plastic. We use the one just called Polymorph Plastic, bought of Ebay. Make sure you leave the pellets in the water long enough. When it's one big chunk it takes forever to make it soft again :)
    • damian

+ellimacs sfx makeup I'll try it with a higher temp. Thanks for the encouragement! Fingers crossed.
    • ellimacs sfx makeup

+modami Try heating up the water a bit more? And yes using food coloring is kina messy but you have to try to get the food coloring insid the plastic and just work it in there :) You'll make it ;)
